These exercises strengthen eye muscles and muscle control for work at near distances. You are advised to avoid these exercises unless your doctor directs you to use them. While this activity is designed to provide benefit, it may also cause eyestrain and discomfort. If you attempt these exercises and find you are not feeling well, discontinue the exercise immediately and take a break, perhaps returning to the exercise on the following day.
Please note that the string should always be positioned between the eyes, and not over the nose as is shown in this video.
